About Library, Archives, and Learning Services
UEL’s Library, Archives, and Learning Services (LALS) operates across two vibrant campus libraries that offer diverse study spaces and extensive online resources. We’re committed to engaging with new and emerging technologies to enhance learning and support our diverse community of students. LALS plays a key role in advancing the university’s strategy on artificial intelligence, particularly in cultivating critical literacies among learners. We also consistently improve our National Student Survey (NSS) scores, with students frequently commending our services and teaching-focused initiatives.
About the Role
The Academic Services Team within LALS works alongside academics and students, creating innovative and inclusive services and collections tailored to the evolving demands of learning, teaching, and research.
Based at our Docklands and Stratford campuses, you’ll lead the design and delivery of inclusive, engaging learning resources in both synchronous and asynchronous formats. A critical understanding of information literacy is essential, while familiarity with AI literacy, a commitment to growing digital skills, and a strong awareness of the ethical implications of emerging technologies are vital components of this role.
In close collaboration with the Digital Services Team, you’ll help shape accessible, inclusive, and relevant collections, while partnering with the Scholarly Communications Manager to drive research initiatives within the university’s academic Schools.
About You
We’re looking for someone with a confident and proactive approach to applying new technologies that enhance teaching and learning. You value the importance of Open Educational Resources (OERs) and are enthusiastic about embedding them into practice. Your commitment to serving a diverse student community and advancing inclusive academic practices is central to your work.
Whether you’ve already gained a professional library qualification or are working towards it, you’ll have a clear understanding of the Library’s role in academic success and the wider student experience. Strong organisational skills, a user-centered mindset, and the ability to build collaborative relationships with academic and professional colleagues will be key to your success.
