This position provides support to the Acquisitions Librarian, facilitating the acquisition and distribution of library materials and content to the staff at Kew and all library patrons. Your primary role will be managing the daily operations that contribute to a seamless and proficient acquisitions service.

Your duties include delivering outstanding customer service while handling book and serial processing as well as facilitating inter-library loans. You will oversee the processing of all incoming materials for the Library & Archives. Tasks such as ordering, receiving, and accessioning new books and serials will fall under your purview, along with managing payments, claims, and related issues. In addition, you will support broader services and collection management efforts.

We’re looking for someone with experience in a library or informational setting, ideally within a research, special, or academic library, who has supported acquisitions services including book purchasing, serials, and inter-library loans. Competency in using finance and/or library management systems, as well as familiarity with clerical and administrative tasks, is crucial. Key to your success will be strong numerical skills, precision, thoroughness, and a systematic working style.

The position offers an annual salary range of £26,100 to £28,543, contingent on qualifications and experience.
