Specialist Focus: Timetabling and Further Education Student Records
Work Location: Minimum 2 days per week on campus

Are you driven by technology and its ability to positively transform student experiences? We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated Application Specialist to join our dynamic team, bringing expertise in Timetabling and Further Education (FE) systems. This is a remarkable chance to contribute to the University’s key student-facing systems and shape the digital experience for learners.

About the Role

As an Application Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing corporate-wide systems. Collaborating with colleagues across Digital Technologies and the wider University, you will:

  • Deliver expert third-line technical support for critical systems related to timetabling and FE student records.
  • Analyze and implement system upgrades, regulatory changes, and maintenance activities using established change control processes.
  • Partner with business users, suppliers, and product managers to identify opportunities for improvement and execute system enhancements.
  • Support annual lifecycle processes, such as timetable scheduling, configuration, publication, and student enrolment, ensuring smooth operations for staff and students throughout the academic year.

Initially, you will focus on Timetabling systems while also offering support to our FE student records systems. You will also have responsibility for managing one team member dedicated to FE systems.

This is a role where your input directly impacts the seamless running of student-centric services in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

What We’re Looking For

We’re searching for an Application Specialist who:

  • Has hands-on experience with timetabling systems, either in a technical or functional capacity (functional candidates should possess a strong interest in developing technical skills).
  • Is detail-oriented, with a robust understanding of data structures and capable of resolving data integration challenges.
  • Is proactive, organized, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Has experience working with large, business-critical systems.
  • Has familiarity with the student lifecycle processes in further or higher education settings (desirable, but not essential).
  • Is enthusiastic and has a passion for learning and personal growth—we value potential.

Additional Information

  • This role is based at our City Site, adhering to a hybrid working model (minimum two days per week on campus).
  • Occasional out-of-hours work may be required to support system maintenance.

We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every single requirement, as diversity and eagerness to learn are highly valued within our team.

Interview Date: Week commencing 8 December 2025
