Revised Job Description: Assessment Team Leader

Application Requirements:
To apply, please submit a complete application, which includes both a CV and a covering letter detailing your skills and experience. Applications submitted without a covering letter will not be considered.

The Role:
Are you a motivated and supportive leader with a passion for delivering outstanding academic services? We’re excited to invite applications for the role of Assessment Team Leader in our newly developed Student and Academic Services (SAS) Directorate. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee the seamless and efficient management of assessment processes across the University and its partner institutions.

As the Assessment Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for guiding a team that handles critical functions such as coordinating assessment data, managing Examination Boards and formal examinations, and ensuring the accurate and timely distribution of student certificates and transcripts (HEARs). Your leadership will help ensure that all assessment activities are conducted in alignment with University standards, policies, and deadlines.

In addition to operational excellence, you’ll empower your team to identify improvements, devise innovative solutions, and enhance the quality of service delivery. Collaboration with wider teams and managers will be key to fostering a student-focused, responsive approach to academic administration.

If you have a meticulous approach, a flair for team management, and a commitment to delivering high standards in academic services, we’d love to hear from you.

What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a dynamic, proactive, and organised professional who has experience with student records systems to support assessment processes. Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

  • A track record of managing and developing staff teams.
  • Expertise in providing regulatory guidance and delivering high-quality outcomes to meet strict deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and planning skills.
  • A flexible, solutions-oriented mindset and a passion for excellent customer service.

While experience in the Higher Education sector and relevant qualifications (or professional membership, such as AHEP) are desirable, they are not essential.

Working Model:
Our team operates a flexible, hybrid working model. Colleagues typically work two days on campus and three days remotely each week. However, during high-demand periods, such as examination seasons, additional on-campus support may be required to meet service needs.

At Canterbury Christ Church University, we are committed to promoting a healthy work-life balance while maintaining a responsive, collaborative workplace culture.

  • Application deadline: 23/07/2025
  • Interviews scheduled for: Week commencing 28/07/2025 and 04/08/2025
