About the Role at UEL
The Library, Archives, and Learning Services at UEL are searching for an enthusiastic Assistant Librarian eager to enhance our team’s dynamics. Role Responsibilities
As a participant in our Scholarly Communications team, your duties will involve managing UEL’s Research Repository for research outputs. This includes ensuring that these outputs meet various compliance requirements, including adherence to deadlines, copyright, and publishers’ standards. You will also facilitate training and guidance related to Open Access, support the University’s open access principles and policies, and aid in preparations for REF2029. Other responsibilities entail:

  • Championing the repository service across the university by collaborating with important stakeholders to enhance open access awareness.
  • Helping develop the repository’s functionalities and the Research Management System’s advancements.
  • Overseeing administrative tasks and financial record-keeping such as managing invoices and preparing expenditure reports tied to Transformative Agreements and Article Processing Charges.

Your Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will exhibit a keen understanding of Open Access principles and a broad comprehension of the scholarly communication landscape. We seek a proactive individual capable of working autonomously and within a team context. You must manifest excellent customer service commitment and possess the ability to utilize various skills, including digital and presentation talents, to support our diverse community. Keeping abreast of changing policies and open research trends will be expected in your professional development.

Compensation and Benefits Package
At UEL, the total compensation package encompasses more than the salary itself.
