ECMWF is seeking a driven Cloud Platform Engineer dedicated to enhancing platform engineering and monitoring of application deployments within the projects of Destination Earth Data Bridges. As one of the key organizations behind the European Commission’s ambitious Destination Earth (DestinE) initiative, ECMWF’s role involves facilitating software deployments into the Data Bridges’ environment, which operates across various EuroHPC Cloud Computing infrastructures.
This role will require close collaboration with application and service developers to improve the performance and oversight of the DT warehouse section within the Data Bridges. At ECMWF, you’ll join a community fervently working to push the boundaries of weather forecasting and high-resolution climate modeling with the most recent foray into cutting-edge technology. Here, you will apply expertise from ECMWF’s operational heritage to nurture the rollout and monitoring of both new and existing applications in numerous Data Bridge settings, ensuring they run effectively in diverse environments with exceptional quality and reliability.
You will be part of the Platform Engineering team, nestled in the Application Delivery Section of our Computing Department. This section is the ecosystem where platforms and services are cultivated to empower ECMWF’s teams to leverage computing resources (PaaS, SaaS) and to deploy applications to the highest quality and reliability standards.
The section champions growth in domains like systems administration automation, application deployment and operation, reliability engineering, identity and access management, container orchestration, monitoring, logging, and tracing, and PaaS/SaaS application development.
This position is fostered by the financial investment from Destination Earth and will synergize with Endeavors at ECMWF Member States and our affiliates at ESA and EUMETSAT.
