As a member of our academic and support teams, you will contribute to the delivery of Level 1, 2, 3, T Level, and HNC computing qualifications in our cutting-edge computing suites and labs. Your role will be crucial in supporting both our academic team and students, ensuring safe utilization of our state-of-the-art facilities.

With excellent organizational skills, you will assist students in their lab and practical work, ensuring they have safe access to resources and can learn effectively. You will work alongside our college IT support team to provide seamless service for computing students as they pursue their qualifications. Maintaining the highest standards of our equipment and technology will be part of your duties, ensuring a safe and relevant learning environment.

The ideal candidate will work with students, offering support and guidance within our labs, while also assisting the academic team with lesson prep and effective delivery within our computing facilities. You will also participate in marketing events and examinations. Ongoing staff training and support for professional development are integral parts of our curriculum staff offerings.

You should have a strong understanding of health and safety requirements and be capable of conducting risk assessments. You’ll also oversee stock control and participate in procuring resources for the department.

Requirements:
For this role, you should possess knowledge and understanding of:

  • Core Computing systems, including wired and wireless networking hardware and software, network protocols, routing, and building computing hardware and networking systems.
  • Effective, clear communication and the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with all stakeholders.
  • Maintaining departmental resources following relevant health and safety protocols.
  • Providing an inclusive and supportive approach to granting student access to resources.
