About the Department
UWL Library Services has proudly earned Customer Service Excellence accreditation, a national acknowledgment of the outstanding quality of services provided to students, academics, and researchers. Join our dedicated Library team as we continually strive to enhance these services. We are currently seeking a full-time Customer Experience Supervisor to join our supportive and friendly team, providing front-line assistance to students, academic staff, and researchers at the Paul Hamlyn Library, located on our Ealing campus.
Role Overview
As part of the Customer Experience Supervisor team, you will play a key role in ensuring consistently high-quality customer service and maintaining an excellent study environment. Your responsibilities will include effectively supervising our Student and Full-Time Assistants while providing operational oversight for a team of Library Student Assistants. Shift patterns will be based on the library’s scheduled operating hours.
This permanent part-time role requires a total of 20 hours per week, and the work schedule includes:
- Sundays from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM
- Additional hours on Mondays and Tuesdays, including Tuesday evenings until 8:00 PM
Occasionally, amended hours may be required to meet service demands, and vacation periods will have adjusted schedules.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will:
- Be committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Have experience supervising or managing a team and working within a customer care setting.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Be proactive, flexible, and capable of working independently.
- Be a team player.
Experience in library services is desirable but not essential.
The successful applicant will be employed on annualized hours and primarily based at the Ealing campus but may occasionally be required to travel to other UWL campuses.
