Christ’s College is seeking applications for the full-time, permanent position of Deputy College Librarian. Working as part of a collaborative library team of six (including this role), the Deputy Librarian will report directly to the College Librarian and play an integral role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all aspects of the Library.
Serving a diverse academic community of approximately 440 undergraduates, 270 postgraduates, 90 Fellows, and visiting researchers, the Library boasts both a comprehensive modern collection and an extensive array of rare books and manuscripts housed in the historic Old Library. Highlights of these special collections include first editions by notable figures such as John Milton and Charles Darwin. This role offers particular responsibility for managing the acquisition of modern printed books and assisting in the oversight of the College’s special collections. It is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized, experienced professional who thrives in a team environment and enjoys working with a broad range of library users.
The annual salary for this position is £32,017 – £36,498 (aligned with points 34-39 on the University of Cambridge single salary spine).
