Health Sciences University (HSU: formerly AECC University College) is a specialist institution focused on health sciences, committed to delivering exceptional education, clinical care, and applied research.
Following the approval of our new university title, Health Sciences University (HSU), in July 2024, and the integration of the University College of Osteopathy into the HSU family as of 1st August 2024, we are embarking on an exciting phase of growth and transformation across our campuses in Bournemouth and central London.
We are a values-driven institution, guided by our mission to “create a healthier society through education, research, and clinical care.” Staff and students work together within a supportive and inclusive community. Currently, we are midway into implementing our Strategic Plan 2021-2026: Fit for the Future but will be refreshing it in the coming weeks to reflect our latest developments.
HSU delivers a diverse and expanding range of academic programs and research opportunities in allied health and related disciplines, spanning both pre-registration and post-registration levels. We also operate significant CQC-registered clinical and imaging services, providing high-quality care to staff, students, and local communities. These facilities offer a unique learning experience for students, enriching their practical skills, supporting local and regional NHS partners, and fostering a data-rich research environment for students, staff, and collaborators.
Partnerships are central to everything we do. As a collaborative and responsive higher education and clinical service provider, we aim to address the workforce, educational, and healthcare needs of our stakeholders while supporting the communities we serve as an established anchor institution. As we continue to grow in Dorset and London, adopting a strategically informed approach to partnership development is crucial to reinforcing HSU as a multi-professional center of excellence in healthcare education, clinical care, and research on local, national, and global stages.
We offer a dynamic, inter-professional learning environment alongside a caring and inclusive community.
