Canterbury Christ Church is looking for a self-driven, experienced SITS technical manager to lead and manage a mid-sized professional team within a cloud-based Tribal SITS and associated technologies framework. You will oversee the SITS development and test teams (directly supervising two roles) to ensure the delivery of high-quality designs and optimized solutions based on business requirements, efficiently prioritizing resources across project and operational activities.

Key responsibilities include building and maintaining stakeholder relationships—especially with the Registry—within the University as well as with our software supplier, Tribal. This is a hands-on technical role with a hybrid work arrangement.

We are seeking someone who can:

  • Demonstrate a proven technical background with Tribal SITS in a people management or leadership capacity.
  • Be responsible and accountable for the successful daily operations of the SITS technical services.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders, fostering relationships across the University, particularly with Registry, Admissions, Finance, and IT departments.
  • Coordinate and plan the workload of the development and test teams, collaborating with relevant parties to deliver high-quality IT systems and applications aligned with project portfolios and agreed initiatives.
  • Lead a SITS Service Technical Design Authority (TDA) to ensure best practices and approaches in Solution Design.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Architect to identify, interpret, and translate SITS strategies into application design and development services.
  • Provide expert professional advice and leadership, staying current with developments in the Tribal SITS community and technological landscape.
  • Manage relationships with Tribal SITS and other associated suppliers.
  • Work with key stakeholders, project managers, and business analysts to assess and refine draft business and functional requirements and specifications.
  • Continuously enhance system development and testing standards, controls, technologies, and delivery methods to meet industry best practices.
  • Deliver clear management to ensure effective and efficient third-level support services with high professional standards alongside excellent customer care.
  • Be technically ‘hands-on’.
  • Be confident and proactive, holding a degree or professional qualification.
  • Have a strong desire to add value and continually improve processes and the SITS Service.

If you have the skills and experience required, this is a great opportunity to advance your career in a professional setting that offers comprehensive benefits.
