Position Overview:
In the role of Digital Library Services Coordinator, you will spearhead the advancement and routine operations of our digital library, ensuring it remains at the forefront of innovation and in tune with the University’s creative and scholarly aspirations. Your responsibilities will involve administering digital content, leading a team, and nurturing a digital-centric approach that caters to the educational and research demands of faculty and students throughout the University.

Key Responsibilities:

– Direct and manage the Digital Library, supervising operations, establishing goals, and guaranteeing the provision of effective services.
– Work in conjunction with academic departments, IT divisions, and external collaborators to craft and refine digital library systems that cater to varied educational, instructional, and research needs.
– Supervise the acquisition of digital materials, oversee financial plans, and generate analyses on utilization and engagement.
– Drive the execution of the virtual study skills programme, making certain that students have access to premier resources and guidance from teaching staff.
– Formulate and implement policies related to copyrights, licensing, and digital assets stewardship to ensure compliance throughout the institution.
– Foster digital and informational literacy by organizing workshops, conducting training, and creating educational resources.
– Support the Dean of Digital Education in strategic planning and execution for digital learning and library services.
– Participate in academic audit and growth initiatives to further the University’s scholastic and educational strategies.

Candidate Profile:

– A degree-level qualification coupled with proven experience in a pertinent capacity, preferably in an academic setting.
– Demonstrable knowledge and experience in employing library management systems for collection maintenance, underpinned by robust IT and planning abilities.
– Seasoned in team leadership and management, qualified in devising operational plans and unravelling intricate challenges.
– Exceptional communication skills, proficient in generating comprehensive reports, written content, and multimedia materials for a range of audiences.
– Conversant with advocating digital literacy, adhering to copyright laws, and integrating cutting-edge digital tools like AI to improve library services.
– Adept interpersonal skills and the capacity to connect with a variety of partners.
– Self-reliant with the competence to make independent decisions and to innovatively tackle complex scenarios.
