We are seeking a Digital Service Designer who is both creative and user-focused to lead the design and development of seamless, impactful, and engaging digital services across our university. This is a unique opportunity to influence the way we deliver digital experiences that meet real user needs while aligning with our organisational goals. Every interaction you design will be guided by clarity, consistency, and care.
As a key member of the Digital Design team, you will take ownership of user-centred service design projects, spanning discovery, design, and continuous improvement phases. You will work closely with product owners, business stakeholders, technical teams, and fellow designers to create services that are accessible, inclusive, and aligned with our digital strategy. Moreover, you will contribute to the development of our design standards, establish best practices for service design, and foster a culture of continuous learning through mentoring and sharing knowledge.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading discovery phases using business analysis, user research, and data insights to identify real-world needs and opportunities.
- Applying UX, CX, and service design principles to create services that deliver value while being intuitive and user-friendly.
- Establishing and maintaining service design standards to promote consistency and efficiency.
- Producing service blueprints and designs that align with industry frameworks such as ITIL.
- Collaborating across digital, technical, and business teams to ensure designs are aligned with strategic objectives and technically feasible.
- Driving continuous improvement informed by user feedback, analytics, and performance data.
- Mentoring and guiding junior designers to foster a supportive and capable design community.
This role provides a platform to combine creativity, empathy, and strategy to enhance the digital experiences of our students, staff, and stakeholders, making a significant impact within a modern university setting.
