Build the Data Foundations of a Smarter, Insight-Driven University
Join us as a forward-thinking Digital Solutions Architect (Data) and play a pivotal role in shaping Canterbury Christ Church University’s digital future. We are looking for a motivated professional to lead the design of scalable, secure, and integrated data solutions that will drive our institution’s digital transformation.

This position is central to how we manage, connect, and derive insights from our data, ensuring our platforms and services rest on solid, compliant, and future-forward data architectures.

The Role:
As a Data Architect within our Digital Solutions team, you’ll collaborate with digital designers, technical experts, and business leaders to ensure our data architecture supports advanced analytics, improved operational efficiency, and evidence-based decision-making. You’ll champion the adoption of modern data platforms and integration approaches, all while safeguarding security, compliance, and the integrity of sensitive information.

Additionally, you will align data strategies with broader digital transformation initiatives and help deliver innovative, impactful digital services for the university.

Key Responsibilities:
We need someone who can:

  • Design and deploy scalable, secure, and efficient data architectures aligned with our strategic goals.
  • Develop and manage data integration solutions to ensure seamless interoperability across university systems.
  • Implement robust data governance, security, and compliance policies that protect sensitive information.
  • Optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Enable future-ready business intelligence and analytics through strategic data design.
  • Lead the adoption of solutions like data lakes and cloud-based warehousing technologies.
  • Work collaboratively across digital, business, IT operations teams, as well as with external partners to deliver cohesive data solutions.
  • Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies in data, AI, and automation to advance innovation.

This high-impact role requires a professional combining expert architectural knowledge with curiosity, pragmatism, and strategic foresight. You will play a critical role in unlocking the university’s potential through thoughtful data solutions.
