Canterbury Christ Church University is on the lookout for a forward-thinking Digital Solutions Architect (Data) to lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and integrated data solutions that will drive the university’s digital future.
This pivotal role will focus on managing, connecting, and interpreting data, ensuring our platforms and services are built upon robust, compliant, and future-ready architectures. As part of our Digital Solutions Team, you will collaborate with digital designers, technical experts, and business leaders to ensure our data framework supports advanced analytics, enhances operational efficiencies, and enables evidence-based decision-making.
You will champion the adoption of modern data platforms and integration practices while safeguarding security and compliance, playing a critical role in aligning data strategies with the university’s broader digital transformation objectives.
Key Responsibilities
We are searching for someone who can:
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient data architectures aligned to university-wide strategic goals.
- Develop and oversee interoperable data integration solutions across university systems.
- Establish and implement robust data governance, security, and compliance practices to protect sensitive information confidently.
- Optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Enable business intelligence and analytics through thoughtful data design and architecture.
- Drive the adoption of innovative technologies like data lakes and cloud-based warehousing solutions.
- Collaborate effectively with digital teams, IT operations, business units, and external partners to deliver cohesive data solutions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies in data, AI, and automation, leading innovation across the university.

Flexible & Connected Working

Your campus attendance will vary throughout the year, aligning purposefully with the needs of students, staff, and stakeholders. Typically, there will be an even balance between time spent on campus and remote working, determined by the tasks and activities required.
