Job Description:
City Colleges of Chicago is seeking a Director of Information Technology at Daley College who will be responsible for planning, directing, implementing, and managing the computer systems and operations that support the individual college’s needs while aligning with District-wide goals and objectives. Key responsibilities include managerial support, supervision of professional and clerical staff, maintaining computer security, consulting with users to resolve problems, overseeing computer equipment inventory, and ensuring adherence to district-wide standards and policies.
Duties & Responsibilities:
– Develop policies and operations for the effective use of the college’s computer network and systems, addressing administrative, academic, and student services.
– Maintain computer system security and user accessibility.
– Address user (employees and students) issues and enhance system functionality.
– Manage computer equipment inventory and serve as the contact for procurement.
– Plan and oversee the budget related to computer systems and operations.
– Act as the main liaison between the college and the District’s Office of Information Technology.
– Supervise and guide professional and clerical staff in service delivery.
– Conduct and oversee personnel activities within the college.
– Participate in meetings at various levels to solve problems and devise solutions.
– Implement application and technical support recommendations.
– Maintain up-to-date knowledge of information systems and district policies.
– Offer continuous user training on technology.
– Assist with special projects related to the automated needs of the college or District.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
– Required current, relevant certification.
– At least five (5 ) years of experience in networking, desktop support, wireless technology/network, and academic application support within an educational environment.
– Demonstrated dedication to promoting diversity and multiculturalism in previous work.
– Preference for experience in a unionized setting.
– Proven ability to establish a learning environment that supports student success.
