Your Role and Responsibilities
As our Director of Apprenticeships, you will spearhead efforts to innovate, enhance, and deliver top-tier apprenticeship programmes. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leadership and Management: Drive the development of high-quality curricula and programmes, fostering excellence in both teaching and outcomes.
- Team Empowerment: Build a high-performance culture, motivating teams to achieve success.
- Curriculum Innovation: Create and deliver apprenticeship standards that set new benchmarks in education.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee robust quality improvement policies to maintain high standards.
- Data Utilisation: Apply insightful data analysis to inform curriculum planning and improvement.
- Excellence in Teaching and Learning: Provide strategic leadership to elevate teaching, learning, and assessments.
- Inclusivity and Diversity: Promote safe, inclusive curriculum environments for everyone.
- Resource Management: Steer the business planning for curriculum areas with efficiency and foresight.
- External Representation: Engage with industry partners to share best practices and strengthen the college’s reputation.
About You
We’re looking for a forward-thinking, passionate individual who will bring substantial experience and innovative approaches to this role. You’ll have the following:
Education and Qualifications:
- A recognised Level 5 teaching qualification or a commitment to achieve it.
- Proven leadership in management roles within Further Education (FE), with experience designing sustainable curricula and driving impactful change.
Work Experience:
- A track record of leading teams to improve teaching and staff performance.
- Experience implementing progressive curricular solutions and intervention strategies that enhance outcomes.
Skills and Knowledge:
- A deep understanding of current education drivers and initiatives.
- Proficiency in using Information and Learning Technology (ILT) to support flexible learning environments.
- Strong expertise in data analysis and quality assurance processes.
Personal Qualities:
- Exceptional leadership and influencing skills.
- Collaborative mindset paired with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- An innovative, flexible, and creative approach to education challenges.
- A commitment to fostering a culture of openness, respect, and continuous development.

What We Offer
- Salary: £47,662 – £53,263 per annum.
- Employer Pension Contributions: Up to £15,379 annually.
