Goldsmiths, University of London, seeks an exceptional candidate for the position of Director of IT. This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity to influence the course of digital transformation and technological services at one of London’s most innovative universities.

About the Role
As the Director of IT, you will be an integral part of the university’s senior leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Financial and acting Chief Operating Officer (CFCO). Leading a talented and diverse team, you will be responsible for implementing an IT strategy that supports Goldsmiths’ academic goals and operational requirements.

Your main responsibilities include ensuring that the university’s IT infrastructure, systems, and services are robust, secure, and well-suited to support teaching, learning, research, and administrative functions. You will play a key role in advancing the digital transformation agenda, enhancing the student experience, and achieving operational efficiencies through modern technology.

Areas under your leadership will include IT Architecture and Infrastructure, Information Security, Business Systems, User Support, and Telecommunications. You will cultivate a culture of innovation and service excellence, ensuring IT services adapt to the evolving needs of students, staff, and the broader academic community.

About You
You will possess significant leadership experience in an IT function, ideally within a complex and regulated setting. Your track record should include developing and executing IT strategies aligned with organizational objectives, with a strong emphasis on service improvement and digital transformation. Experience in managing large teams and budgets is crucial, along with a comprehensive understanding of IT architecture, network security, and compliance frameworks like GDPR.

As a highly effective communicator and collaborator, you will engage closely with academic departments, senior leadership, and external partners to deliver innovative IT solutions that enhance the university’s operations. Your commitment to continuous improvement and service excellence will help ensure that Goldsmiths stays at the forefront of technological advancement in higher education.
