Located in Northampton and embracing a hybrid work model, with approximately two days of on-site work per week, the University of Northampton (UON) is recognized for its innovative spirit and dedication to enhancing student experiences, earning the distinction of the UK’s first Changemaker Campus. Given our emphasis on innovation, we are in pursuit of a seasoned IT executive to craft and direct our information and technology strategy, as well as to guide the university through a comprehensive digital transformation. The new IT Director will be an integral part of the University Leadership Team, responsible for preserving UON’s distinguished reputation as a pioneer in IT innovation and technologically advanced education.

Upon joining, the IT Director will evaluate the existing IT strategy’s alignment with UON’s broader goals and make appropriate adjustments to ensure the fulfillment of strategic objectives. You will take charge of a talented team skilled in various areas including application and infrastructure services, security, compliance, and data management. Candidates should have a degree and be recognized for their inclusive leadership style, providing an environment conducive to learning and skill development. An ability to lead collaboratively and a commitment to delivering top-tier IT services that enhance the experiences of students and staff are critical.
