We are excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Director of IT to join our IT department on a permanent basis. This key role is essential for directing the strategic evolution of the University’s digital capabilities, ensuring that both students and staff are well-equipped to meet their academic and operational targets within a complex multi-campus framework. The Director will establish a framework for operational teams to develop their objectives and will cultivate strong relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
The Director will forge robust networks across academic and professional services sectors and effectively influence stakeholder groups to support the University’s strategic objectives. Serving as a trusted advisor, the Director will provide strategic insights and assurance to the Executive and committees of Court about effective risk management.
The IT Director will actively develop and enhance strong networks, gaining the trust of the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive and the broader leadership team, including Deans of School and Directors/Heads of professional services. This will facilitate the implementation of the IT plan. Additionally, the Director will play a substantial role in chairing university-wide forums and leading cross-university projects.
Ideal candidates will possess:
– A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
– Proven experience with a significant record of achievement in senior IT leadership roles, preferably in a similar industry or organizational setting.
– Experience in leading and managing resources, handling challenging workloads, and adapting to changing priorities.
– Extensive knowledge of current and emerging digital trends.
– Leadership skills for establishing high-level effective networks within the University and with external organizations and stakeholders.
– Excellent communication skills.
– Strong negotiation abilities for executing procurement projects that demonstrate significant value for money.
