About the Finance Department
The Finance Department at Goldsmiths is responsible for budget preparation and monitoring, financial accounting, treasury management, and overseeing all payments and income transactions for the College. The Financial Operations team, comprising 14 members, reports to the Head of Financial Operations and subsequently the Deputy Director of Finance. This team handles critical functions like Credit Control, Accounts Payable, Treasury, and Finance and HR Systems, managing interactions with over 4,000 suppliers and more than 8,000 students every year.
The Finance and HR Systems Team specifically oversees the Unit 4 Business World Finance and HR system and the Hireserve recruitment system. Their responsibilities extend across various sectors including Finance, Payroll, Procurement, Information Technology and Digital Systems (IT&DS), and People and Organisational Development, serving users college-wide.
About the Role
The Finance and HR Systems Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Unit 4 Business World and Hireserve systems. A major focus will be on preparing for their migration to a cloud-based ERP, while offering ongoing support and resolving issues. The primary goal is to ensure these systems align with user needs and the College’s overall objectives.
This role involves managing the full lifecycle of both systems, from development through support, ensuring they provide value and meet user requirements. This includes selecting appropriate development methodologies, prioritizing tasks, planning updates, testing, and managing the systems’ backlogs.
About the Candidate
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with ERP systems, mentoring staff, and driving impactful change. They should possess strong technical skills and practical experience, particularly with managing the Unit 4 product in previous roles.
