Location: Old Road Campus Research Building, Roosevelt Drive, Headington, Oxford, OX3 7DQ
Salary: Grade 7 (£38,674 – £46,913), with a discretionary range up to £51,059 per annum, inclusive of a pensionable Oxford University Weighting of £1,500 annually
Looking for a new challenge in flow cytometry?
The Nuffield Department of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Flow Cytometry Facility Manager to join its team, based at the Old Road Campus Research Building. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of the facility, deliver training in a variety of flow cytometry techniques tailored to users’ needs, and support an array of innovative research projects across the University.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the facility’s flow cytometers, performing system performance checks and liaising with engineers or company representatives as needed.
- Provide training for users on flow cytometry equipment and software, ensuring confidence in safe and effective operation.
- Oversee shared facility scheduling, prioritize access for users, and manage service contracts for instruments.
- Assist with grant applications and contribute to the development of advanced workflows for cell analysis and sorting.
- Evaluate and recommend prospective new equipment to meet evolving research demands.
About You:
We are seeking candidates with a degree in biological sciences or a related field, along with expertise in flow cytometry and the operation of various flow cytometry instruments. You should have experience in flow cytometry data analysis, using both commercial and open-source software, and a clear enthusiasm for supporting cutting-edge research through a flow cytometry facility. The ability to provide scientific guidance to researchers at all levels is essential. Prior experience with full spectrum flow cytometry is desirable.

Contract Details:
