About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to lead transformative initiatives that strengthen education, research, and civic engagement across the University. As Head of Digital Services and Transformation, you will:

  • Shape a cutting-edge digital experience for users, including the introduction of services in our upcoming library building.
  • Design, manage, and enhance user-focused digital platforms, systems, and services to meet the evolving needs of our Library, North West Film Archive, Special Collections, and Manchester Poetry Library.
  • Develop seamless access and discovery solutions, connecting people with knowledge, collections, and creative resources.
  • Leverage artificial intelligence, automation, digital-first workflows, and data-powered solutions to optimize access, efficiency, and user satisfaction.
  • Build the digital skills and confidence of colleagues across Library and Cultural Services.
  • Play a key role in the senior leadership group, influencing strategic decisions and delivering measurable impact.

About You

You are a confident and innovative leader with a strategic vision for how digital transformation can enhance library and cultural services. With senior-level experience in a library or cultural collections environment, you bring a deep understanding of digital library services, content, and discovery. Your expertise in digital transformation is matched by your commitment to user experience, ability to lead and inspire teams, and demonstrate collaboration within the University and the wider sector.
