Canterbury Christ Church University is seeking an inspiring and forward-thinking Head of Digital Solutions to lead the design and technical architecture of our digital platforms, systems, and infrastructure. This pivotal role will drive the modernisation, integration, and future-proofing of our digital environment to ensure scalability, security, and alignment with both service design principles and institutional strategy.
About the Role
As our Head of Digital Solutions, you will oversee two vital teams:
- Digital Solutions Team Leader: Guiding engineers across areas such as network, platform, applications, data and integration, and monitoring.
- Digital Solutions Architects: Specialists in data, estates infrastructure, end-user computing, platform and application design, integration, and networks.
You’ll work closely with the Digital Design team to ensure solutions focus on user experience and service outcomes while collaborating with Digital Service Delivery, Digital Operations, Products, and Digital Risk & Security teams to drive consistency, innovation, and resilience throughout the university’s digital landscape.
Your expertise will play a crucial role as a key member of the Service Design Authority, where you will influence digital investment and long-term strategic planning.
This high-impact leadership position is ideal for a candidate who can skillfully combine architectural foresight with delivery, governance with creativity, and transformation with a pragmatic approach.
We’re Looking For:
- Extensive experience in digital and solution architecture, systems integration, and enterprise platforms.
- Leadership excellence that inspires high-performing engineers and architects.
- Strong knowledge of data strategies, interoperability, technical risk management, and infrastructure modernisation.
- Proven ability to align digital design, delivery, and governance within large organisations.

The balance between on-campus and remote work will vary throughout the year but is always purpose-driven, ensuring alignment with the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders. Typically, there will be an even split between on-campus and remote working, with the specific work location determined by the nature of the role and activities.
