Murray Edwards College, part of the University of Cambridge, is seeking an experienced and proactive Head of Governance & Compliance to enhance its governance framework, transparency, accountability, and regulatory assurance.

This is a newly created role that involves working closely with senior leadership, including the Council and Governing Body, to uphold excellence in governance, data protection, statutory compliance, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Substantial experience in governance, compliance, and organisational risk management, preferably involving service to boards or committees.
  • Strong analytical and administrative capabilities to ensure accurate decision-making and record-keeping.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, forging effective relationships at all organisational levels.
  • Proactive in monitoring and following up on governance and compliance obligations.
  • Clear and confident communication skills to improve processes and oversight.
  • Experience in the charity or non-profit sector is advantageous but not essential.

Your role will be pivotal in strengthening the College’s governance structures and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
