The role being offered is responsible for leading the Planning and Statutory Returns Team, focusing on advancing student number planning, forecasting, and the coordination of essential student statutory reporting. The incumbent will lead a team of analysts, providing high-quality student management information to shape the university’s strategic decision-making processes.
This is a leadership position involving collaboration with the university’s senior leadership and various committees, notably the Audit and Risk Committee. The role entails advising on compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements and driving the strategy for academic and curriculum affairs to enhance the educational and student experience offerings at the university.
The successful candidate will have substantial expertise in student number planning and statutory reporting, playing a critical role in the continuous implementation of the HESA Data Futures initiative at Aston University and leveraging statutory return data to improve internal processes. The role demands engagement with multiple stakeholders, commitment to student data quality, and keeping the management team aware of potential risks and developments in the statutory reporting landscape. It involves active participation with sector peers and statutory bodies.
