EdTech Job – Head of Product at University of Sheffield

Shape the Future of Digital Learning at One of the UK’s Leading Russell Group Universities!

As Head of Product (Education), you will lead the strategy and direction of our education technology portfolio, driving innovation across key platforms such as our Virtual Learning Environment, student records integration, and assessment systems. These are critical tools that directly enhance the experiences of our students and academic staff every day.

Reporting to the Assistant Director for Product Delivery, you’ll define and deliver a product vision aligned with the University’s strategic goals, collaborate closely with academic departments, and manage a dedicated team of product and delivery specialists. Your work will ensure our education technology drives excellent teaching outcomes and provides an outstanding student experience.

Who We’re Looking For
We’re searching for an experienced product leader with a strong background in delivering transformative education technology in Higher Education. You’ll bring expertise in accessibility standards, user-centred design, and managing complex system integrations.

With the launch of our product-led delivery approach in January 2026, this role is central to maintaining delivery momentum while evolving how we work. If you understand the intricacies of academic calendars, assessment cycles, and the dynamic relationships between students, academic departments, and professional services, alongside the ability to navigate senior stakeholders in a federated organisation, we’re eager to hear from you.
