We are excited to announce a vacancy for the position of Head of Student Lifecycle within our proactive Delivery Services team, part of the Directorate of Student and Academic Services. This directorate is tasked with ensuring a top-tier student experience by providing comprehensive services from enrollment through to graduation, encompassing wellness services and the accurate establishment of new courses. The ideal candidate will be a higher education leader or manager with a broad skill set in various aspects of the student lifecycle, including enrollment, tuition and funding, examinations, credential verification, and the organization of graduation ceremonies, with a strong focus on delivering customer-centered services.

In this role, you will lead and oversee two teams – the Fees and Funding Team and the Student Lifecycle Team – steering the direction of 17 staff members, including two managers and five team leaders, to ensure all services within your portfolio are delivered efficiently. In the Student Lifecycle Team, you’ll handle roles ranging from Enrollment to Exams, Credential Verification, and Graduation Ceremonies; in Fees and Funding, you’ll be in charge of liaising with the Student Loans Company and other finance bodies. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders is essential to achieve the desired outcomes and service levels in your area of responsibility.

Applicants must have a degree or equivalent qualification, substantial experience with a university student record system (preferably SITS:Vision), and a grasp of the prevailing trends and issues within the sphere of Higher Education. Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, coupled with outstanding interpersonal skills and a dedication to client-centered service provision, is a must.

The selected candidate will typically be employed through BCU Support Services Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Birmingham City University. However, individuals with previous membership in Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) preferring to join LGPS will be directly employed by Birmingham City University.
