The Role
Location: CU Coventry Campus, CV1 2TU

We are looking to appoint Hourly Paid Tutors in IT with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Cloud Computing, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Computer Networks, and Software Engineering. Ideal candidates will possess knowledge and skills in relevant areas such as IoT, AI, programming (C , Python, Java, or C#), operating systems, CISCO Networking, AWS/Azure/GCP (Developer/Associate certifications), web/software development, and SQL databases. Successful candidates will play a key role in delivering outstanding teaching to students at CU Coventry, enriching our portfolio of undergraduate programs delivered at our modern facilities.

As a tutor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, contributing to curriculum development, and providing tutorials. Through an innovative teaching approach, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the learning experience for current and future students, aligning with industry and student needs.

Key duties include:

  • Developing and delivering engaging teaching, assessments, and tutorials.
  • Updating and enhancing course material, including virtual learning environment resources.
  • Utilizing best practices in learning and teaching to inspire students, stimulate engagement, and highlight the value of active participation.
  • Supporting students through high-quality academic guidance and tailored advice.

Required Qualifications

  • Essential: A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline OR (for candidates from a professional background) an Honours Degree coupled with an appropriate professional qualification/membership.
  • A teaching qualification, or a willingness to obtain one, is also essential. Coventry University offers robust academic support and professional development opportunities, including the opportunity to achieve a PGCE qualification.
