Harrow, Richmond, and Uxbridge Colleges are dedicated to providing education and training across West London. Our offerings include three further education institutions, the West London Institute of Technology specializing in higher technical STEM qualifications, and HRUC Apprenticeships & Skills, which provides a variety of apprenticeships and support for businesses aiming to enhance their workforce.

As an IT professional reporting to the IT Director, your role will involve overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of the college’s IT infrastructure. You’ll ensure that it aligns with HRUC’s strategic objectives and promotes an innovative, excellent, and environmentally responsible atmosphere. Working closely with the Chief Technology Officer, IT Director, Director of Funding and Information Services, and the broader IT team, you’ll contribute to shaping the IT strategy and lead the execution of infrastructure projects.

You’ll also provide leadership to the infrastructure team, manage change control and daily operations, and ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements such as safeguarding. Additionally, you’ll research and implement innovative technologies and systems to improve operational efficiency.

You should have at least five years of experience in an IT infrastructure role, preferably within an educational context, with a strong understanding of Hyper-V, Microsoft Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and Group Policy. Your hands-on experience with Azure Services, including resource provisioning, management, and optimization, will be crucial. Proficiency in configuring, managing, and supporting firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi, DNS and DHCP, and certificate services, along with automating application deployment through SSCM and InTune, is expected. Furthermore, you should have a minimum of two years of experience leading a team of IT engineers and practical experience in managing relationships with outsourced strategic partners.
