About the School / Service
IT Services is a centralised, collaborative department at the forefront of transforming UEL’s digital landscape in alignment with the University’s Vision 2028 strategic plan. We spearhead innovative initiatives within a dynamic and constantly evolving, cloud-based environment. Working closely with staff, students, partners, and stakeholders, IT Services focuses on identifying and implementing cutting-edge technological advancements to enhance UEL’s working and learning environments.

Our portfolio includes the development, implementation, and support of digital systems and services, ensuring they meet the current and future needs of the university. About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and passionate technologist to join our team as an Integration & Database Specialist. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping and managing service integrations across the organisation, ensuring they adhere to the highest standards of security, reliability, and efficiency. You will:

  • Support the design and delivery of integration and database projects, ensuring they align with departmental best practices.
  • Develop, maintain, and provide robust support for service integrations across the organisation.
  • Monitor system capacity regularly, proactively addressing potential challenges to maintain optimal performance.
  • Create and maintain detailed architectural diagrams and documentation for databases and integrations, reporting to senior management monthly.

About You
We are looking for a self-motivated and detail-driven individual who is enthusiastic about technology and innovation. You will play an instrumental role in designing, developing, monitoring, and maintaining UEL’s complex digital ecosystem, which includes over 70 interconnected systems and services.

Key responsibilities include contributing to technical initiatives that ensure the resilience and performance of our digital infrastructure while aligning with industry standards and best practices. You will also promote a culture of continuous improvement, working collaboratively with team members to advance ITIL initiatives. A proactive approach to maintaining the security of integration and database systems is essential, including conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to protect UEL’s systems.

Strong stakeholder engagement and effective communication will be key as you ensure that all systems evolve with the university’s evolving operational demands.
