Arts University Plymouth (AUP), a leading arts institution in the UK, is on the lookout for an IT Operational Lead to join its service team.

This pivotal role involves the daily management and communication of the university’s IT services and systems. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in ensuring that the technology infrastructure consistently supports the institution’s dedication to exemplary teaching, learning, and research aligned with AUP’s mission and strategic goals.

As the IT Operational Lead, you will enhance the operational framework of AUP, a necessity for an institution of our size. Your leadership will shape a dedicated team striving to uphold the university’s national recognition, such as the accolades received from our students.*

Proactive in maintaining IT services, the appointee will guide the team towards meeting the growing and complex needs of our faculty and students, optimize our current assets, and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve long-term objectives.

Following the Board’s approval of our strategic plan for 2030, the role will involve collaborating with the Head of Resources to revolutionize our infrastructure to serve the evolving requirements of AUP’s community.

About You:

– You possess strong communication and organizational talents.
– You have a track record of effectively managing a team of IT professionals.
– You bring experience working with up-to-date and compliant IT systems and practices.
– You have a deep understanding of IT systems and administration, perhaps having worked in a technical or specialized IT function before.
– You are versatile and can apply your skills across various areas of the business as needed.
– You are adept at operational leadership and possess strategic foresight, demonstrating sound judgment in business decisions.

About The Role:

– Serving under the Head of Resources, you will fulfill the strategic plan’s operational goals and vision.
– You will inspire your team to ideate and execute innovative workflows to adapt to the dynamic landscape of higher education.
– You will spearhead operational initiatives, manage full-cycle engagements with stakeholders, and provide integral oversight to projects such as hardware refreshes and software updates.
– You will prioritize critical needs and devise creative solutions that align with stakeholder requirements.
