The University of Bath is looking to recruit an IT Procurement Officer to support the efficient delivery of IT procurement services across the institution.
About the Role
As a vital member of the IT Procurement team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, including processing hardware and software requests, raising purchase orders, and keeping procurement documentation updated.
You will take charge of a small team, ensuring work is effectively prioritized and service levels are consistently maintained. Additionally, you will contribute to supplier relationship management, assist with procurement planning, and ensure compliance with University policies and procedures.
This role involves frequent use of procurement and finance systems, as well as close collaboration with colleagues within the Digital, Data & Technology department and across the wider University.
About You
The ideal candidate will bring the following qualities and skills:
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage tasks systematically while demonstrating precision in handling numerical data.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of the role.
- Adept at working under pressure to meet tight deadlines, balancing multiple workloads simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an inclusive approach to interpersonal interactions.
- Skilled in managing sensitive and confidential information with discretion, tact, and respect.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Self-motivated with effective time management and organizational abilities.
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for technology.
Additional Information
This is a hybrid position requiring on-campus presence for at least three days per week. You will work in a collaborative and supportive environment that values service delivery and continuous improvement.
The position is full-time, offered as maternity cover from August 2025 to March 2026.
