About the Team/Project
The IT & Digital (ITD) department plays a critical role in providing high-quality, responsive, and secure services that support staff and students at the University. Our work significantly influences and shapes both the learning and professional experiences of students and employees alike.
Within ITD, the End User Compute (EUC) team focuses on engineering, managing, securing, and ensuring compliance across our multi-platform estate, which includes Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android devices. The EUC team’s responsibilities extend to application packaging, endpoint security, device configuration, and platform management, employing tools such as JAMF, Intune, and SCCM.
About the Role
This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the management and development of the University’s Mac platform, working within a skilled team of EUC and software deployment specialists. The successful candidate will handle daily operations, platform engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This role demands a highly experienced individual with technical expertise in enterprise Mac and Windows environments, experience collaborating in technical teams, and strong communication skills. You will influence the University’s IT strategy, enhance tools and standards, and support the integration of new technologies in the EUC landscape.
About the Candidate
We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:
Key Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in documentation and presentation.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work within deadlines.
- A customer-focused and results-driven mindset.
Essential Experience:
- Managing Mac estate operations at scale.
- Qualifications or certifications in Mac management (e.g., JAMF).
- Proficiency in enterprise management platforms such as JAMF, Intune, and SCCM.
- Broad and in-depth knowledge of enterprise IT systems.
- Hands-on experience with endpoint security tools.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Azure AD, and Group Policy.
- Comprehensive understanding of security, compliance, and secure-by-default principles.
Desirable Experience:
- Expertise in app virtualization and VDI technologies.
- Experience supporting critical business projects.
- Leadership in driving innovation and change in technical environments.
