Position Overview:
The University of Hull is currently seeking a talented and seasoned IT Project Manager to join our team during a dynamic period of organizational change and development. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in the execution of numerous projects under the IT Transformation Programme, aimed at enhancing and overhauling the University’s IT infrastructure and essential systems. Responsibilities include leading project initiation, planning, and execution to ensure the effective selection, deployment, transition, and upgrading of critical informational systems and infrastructure elements. The role also involves contributing to the establishment of project management best practices and the creation of an internal Project Management structure at the University.
Necessary Skills and Experience:
– Proven track record in the successful delivery of IT projects, with a preference for expertise in areas such as VMware, cloud computing, networking, cybersecurity, Active Directory, and End User Computing.
– Proficient in managing interdisciplinary project teams, including those from diverse University departments, implementation firms, and external vendors.
– Experience in project management and daily budget oversight.
– Skilled in identifying and handling project-related risks and issues.
– Demonstrated leadership abilities in steering projects under your supervision.
– Strong relationship-building skills with various stakeholders.
– Exceptional oral and written communication competences.
– Previous experience in the higher education sector is a significant asset.
