Role Overview:
We are seeking an IT Security Analyst focused on Security Operations Center (SOC) operations. This hands-on position will support vital daily operations in our new Security/Networks Operations Centre initiative. The role is diverse, fostering your continuous growth, and involves security/network alert investigations, vulnerability scanning and reporting, support tasks, and third-party engagements. Team Information:
As a part of the IT Security Team, you’ll collaborate with 5 other professionals, ensuring the security of the University’s data and infrastructure. The team’s responsibilities cover providing expert advice, leading university-wide IT security initiatives, and advising on current and emerging threats.
Key Requirements:
- Passion for IT, networking, and IT Security.
- Understanding of potential attacks on IT systems and networks and the defense mechanisms.
- Familiarity with vulnerability scanning and SIEM solutions.
- Ability to detect threats, vulnerabilities, and misconfigurations within the University’s network.
- Eagerness to engage with new systems and enhance your professional skills.
- Competence in interpreting and analyzing large datasets to identify trends and anomalies.
