About UWTSD

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) holds a distinguished history dating back to the first university established in Wales in 1828. The university operates under a Royal Charter and is privileged to have His Majesty King Charles III as Royal Patron.

Today, UWTSD serves over 16,000 students across six UK campuses—four in Wales and two in England—while also fostering international educational partnerships across Europe, China, Malaysia, the USA, and other regions.

Our mission is to transform education and, in doing so, positively impact the lives of individuals and the communities we serve. We have been nationally recognised for our outstanding student experience:

  • 1st in Wales and joint 3rd in the UK for Student Satisfaction (Times Higher Education, July 2024).
  • Ranked 1st in Wales across seven subjects and included in the Top 10 in the UK for three subjects (Guardian University League Table 2024).

This success is attributed to the dedication and expertise of our people working collaboratively. Building on this culture and strong foundation, UWTSD is striving to be a leading provider of inclusive, accessible higher education.
