UGM Manchester is a student-focused Higher Education provider located in the vibrant city of Manchester. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional teaching and assessment standards within an inclusive and business-oriented environment. As our campus continues to grow, we are looking to add a Learning Resources Centre (LRC) Officer to our expanding support team.
The Role
The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours weekly, primarily during regular working hours, Monday to Friday. During term-time, the role requires staffing the iCentre on some Tuesday and Thursday evenings until 9:00 PM, as well as occasional Saturday shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. When working evenings or Saturdays, time-off-in-lieu will be provided during the weekday.
This position involves a student-facing role with duties including:
- Supporting students with queries related to learning resources and IT.
- Assisting in the upkeep of our physical library and other learning materials.
- Maintaining and updating our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
- Providing support to academic teams for learning resource-related tasks.
- Occasionally aiding reception staff at the iCentre with general administrative responsibilities.
- Participating in university-wide events such as graduation ceremonies and top achiever awards.
Requirements
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
- A professional and student-centred approach, with excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- High digital literacy skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to work independently, although on-the-job training and mentoring will be provided.
- Diligence, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
- A well-presented and professional manner.
Applicants must also:
- Have unrestricted rights to live and work in the UK without limitations.
- Successfully pass a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.
