Your Role and Responsibilities

As an integral member of the library team, you will be tasked with the following key responsibilities:

  • Integrating various educational technologies into the academic setting through active collaboration with faculty members and addressing the technical and educational requirements of principal participants.
  • Offering digital learning support by planning, overseeing, and implementing support services for technology-enhanced learning, which includes the evaluation and testing of innovative learning support systems.
  • Recognizing needs for support and technology solutions, acquiring them, and managing the introduction and expansion of digital tools.
  • Creating and conducting numerous workshops focused on technical skills and educational methodology for staff development.
  • Planning and running sessions to enhance the digital competencies of students.
  • Advocating for exemplary digital learning, teaching, and evaluation practices.
  • Keeping abreast of best practices, new initiatives, and current trends in higher education and digital learning, and making suitable recommendations.
  • Engaging in a cohesive team atmosphere by expressing ideas and suggestions for innovation and refinement.
  • Fulfilling additional duties as directed by your supervisor and the management of the Library.
  • Participating and contributing to library projects, gatherings, and events pertinent to your role.
  • Gaining acceptance for digital teaching and learning tools among stakeholders, and promoting them.
  • Nurturing and advancing relationships.
  • Establishing robust, enduring professional connections within the Library, various faculties, and support services that aid academic and teaching personnel at all levels.
  • Maintaining strong ties with the UK and Malaysia campuses with an emphasis on exchanging best practices.
  • Managing relationships with technology vendors, focusing on achieving maximum value for the university and its stakeholders.
  • Leading projects related to learning technology.
  • Directing the scope and conduct of work, ensuring inter-departmental connections, and aligning resources with the Library’s priorities, Campus Development Plan, KPIs, and strategic objectives.
  • Managing all phases of the project lifecycle, from planning and realising benefits to project closure.
  • Assisting with the development of business cases and initiating projects, along with facilitating the consensus on project scope and criteria for success.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A first degree or equivalent or relevant practical experience.
  • A history of continual professional development activities.
  • Preferably at least a year’s worth of relevant job experience.
  • Knowledge of audio/video technologies, digital learning pedagogies and their implementation in higher education.
  • Experience collaborating with or supporting higher education faculty to endorse and utilize digital learning tools.
  • Proficiency in creating and executing learning resources.
  • Capability in designing and delivering developmental workshops for staff and students.
  • Experience aiding or working with an LMS and online assessments.
  • Experience in orchestrating and overseeing projects related to educational technology.
  • Experience in breaking through departmental barriers.
  • Familiarity with interacting with colleagues from diverse professional and cultural contexts.
  • Comprehension of the development of students’ digital skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-sufficiency in organizing work and autonomously executing tasks.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Team spirit with a readiness to be adaptable.

Your Compensation, Benefits, and Support

We are offering a regular role with an initial fixed-term contract of 3 years, including a 6-month probationary period at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China.
