**Role Purpose:**
The incumbent will serve as a Librarian at a higher education institution, focusing on managing learning resources. They will support both students and faculty staff, function as the Copyright Officer, and ensure adherence to legal requirements.
The librarian facilitates the use of an extensive range of library services encompassing digital and physical resources. These include the Northeastern University digital library, partnerships with local libraries such as Senate House Library, and the City of London municipal library service.
The role entails collaborative work with a fellow part-time librarian, reporting to the VLE & Learning Resources Manager as part of the broader Resourcing & Operations team. It involves both solo and cooperative tasks, strong engagement with academic departments, and liaising with bookstores and libraries, including the main library service at Northeastern University in Boston.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Coordinating with academic and public library partners, managing memberships, and serving as the lead contact.
2. Overseeing the small on-campus reference collection and external physical library resources.
3. Expanding and updating the on-campus reference collection.
4. Managing online resources, contract renewals, and overseeing budget constraints.
5. Enhancing the e-book collection and collaborating with Northeastern University librarians.
6. Collecting and utilizing data for library strategic planning.
7. Addressing and resolving resource access issues with support from Boston librarians.
8. Sourcing academic resources for course requirements and support.
9. Maintenance and expansion of library collections, ensuring they meet academic and community needs.
10. Developing and publicizing library resource-related workshops and projects.
11. Engaging the university community with library services.
12. Reviewing student feedback to improve learning resources.
13. Contributing to working groups related to learning resources and providing data.
14. Training the university community on copyright compliance.
15. Handling the library budget.
