The University of the West of Scotland (UWS) is seeking a Library Assistant to join our dedicated team at the Lanarkshire Campus. This role plays a vital part in enhancing the student experience by ensuring the smooth daily operation of our library services. Along with routine responsibilities, Library Assistants are expected to provide specialized support in one or two key areas of library activity, drawing on their experience and expertise. You will work as part of a skilled team, utilizing established processes and systems to carry out your duties effectively and efficiently.
Working Hours:
- Monday: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
- Tuesday: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
- Wednesday: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
- HNC qualification or equivalent work experience
- Proven experience in customer service roles or relevant technical environments, including volunteering
- A proactive approach to learning new systems and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and enhance service delivery
- Willingness to travel and work across UWS campuses, as needed
- Organizational skills to meet deadlines and balance workload effectively
