As a key member of the College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences (MVLS) Service team, the Trusted Research Environment (TRE) Systems Administrator plays a pivotal role in delivering and supporting the IT infrastructure integral to groundbreaking research.

Role Overview

The postholder will be primarily responsible for:

  • Managing and maintaining the physical and virtual Linux and Windows Server core infrastructure.
  • Performing systems administration, user support, and development activities.
  • Ensuring high availability and optimal performance for research systems and services in a secure enterprise environment.
  • Conducting daily maintenance and operational tasks for both Linux and Windows systems to support the Trusted Research Environment (TRE).

Additionally, you will:

  • Oversee TRE server infrastructure, liaising with key vendors such as Dell, Broadcom, DataVita, Vyatta, and the University Information Services team.
  • Manage network connectivity and co-location facilities associated with DataVita.
  • Provide support and maintenance for virtualized systems, including VMWare.
