The Role:
Step into a key position where you’ll analyze complex datasets and deliver insightful results. Your expertise will contribute to the analysis of higher education data and statistical product development. This role requires a strong understanding of data analysis concepts or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge. You will also be responsible for scheduling work, setting priorities, coordinating activities of junior data analysts, and offering technical or statistical advice and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead challenging or larger work packages, ensuring mutual agreement on project timelines with colleagues.
  • Develop work schedules, manage projects, and prioritize tasks across the team while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Become a subject matter expert on HESA data, with a comprehensive understanding of the higher education landscape and its impact on stakeholders.
  • Offer expert guidance and support both internally, through mentoring and knowledge-sharing, and externally, through training and development.
  • Strategize and implement improved processes to boost efficiencies and streamline operations, such as adopting Reproducible Analytical Pipelines (RAP).
  • Innovate statistical processes and develop new datasets and analytical tools.
  • Drive operational efficiency by creating smarter solutions and techniques.
  • Utilize advanced data manipulation and statistical methodologies to analyze HESA data through trend analysis, quality assurance, and statistical product improvement.
  • Potentially oversee and manage junior analysts.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Significant experience in analyzing and presenting quantitative data, either orally or in writing.
  • Strong knowledge in handling and analyzing large databases.
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following: SQL, Python, R.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex issues and implement these solutions effectively.
  • Proven leadership capabilities in guiding team members to solve strategic-level problems.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
