The College is seeking a Project Archivist (Cataloguer) for a 6-month, part-time (28 hours per week) fixed-term contract, with an annual salary of £29,811 and excellent benefits, equating to a full-time equivalent (FTE) salary of £37,264. The successful candidate will manage the archival collection of the National Reye’s Syndrome Foundation, which consists mainly of paper records.
Duties include appraising, cataloguing, repackaging, and promoting these important records using the Axiell Collections system, while adhering to ISAD(G) standards. You will be expected to pinpoint and digitize key materials, and develop promotional content such as blogs, social media posts, and articles for the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) website, with the potential to contribute to academic journals.
Applicants should hold a professional qualification in Archives and Records Management and have substantial experience in preservation, repackaging, and knowledge of archival standards including ISAD(G), ISO 15489, and MoReq. Proficiency in cataloguing and using Axiell Collections or equivalent software is necessary, alongside excellent IT skills and a familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Established on 10 August 1983, the National Reye’s Syndrome Foundation focuses on research, awareness, and support relating to Reye’s syndrome and similar conditions. It has been part of the RCPCH since 2012.
