The Opportunity

We are looking for a passionate and results-driven Research and Impact Manager to spearhead our research programme and ensure our work is firmly grounded in credible evidence and data. In this role, you will oversee impactful research projects, evaluate organisational outcomes, and contribute to shaping our CPR strategy. This is a unique opportunity for someone analytical and conscientious who is eager to influence meaningful change for animals, people, and the planet through research-driven initiatives.


Your Role: Key Responsibilities

1. Research Leadership

  • Lead on designing and delivering innovative research projects aligned with TVS’s strategic objectives.
  • Manage external research partnerships, including commissioning third-party research.
  • Conduct primary research via desk-based studies, surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
  • Oversee the production of high-quality research outputs such as reports, policy briefings, and blog articles.
  • Stay updated on the latest vegan-related research and ensure internal resources are current.
  • Foster collaboration with internal departments to promote evidence-based practices across TVS.

2. Communication & Engagement

  • Build and enhance partnerships with external stakeholders such as the Research Advisory Committee and Researcher Network.
  • Represent TVS at public events, conferences, workshops, and media platforms.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Team to disseminate research findings through media, digital, and public engagement channels.
  • Ensure all research outputs meet the highest standards of accuracy and quality control.

3. Team Leadership

  • Provide line management to the Research Officer, including development plans and performance reviews.
  • Assist two Campaigns/Policy/Research Assistants/Officers through guidance and mentorship.

4. Impact & Evaluation

  • Lead on monitoring and evaluation efforts within the department, managing the Impact Tracker to assess performance.
  • Deliver annual impact reports, measuring organisational progress against strategic goals.
  • Support teams across TVS to develop robust evaluation frameworks and effectively integrate them into strategic planning.

About You: Skills and Experience

We’re looking for a candidate with:

  • Proven Research Experience: Demonstrated success in managing research projects, ideally in an advocacy, academic, or commercial setting.
  • Analytical Expertise: Strong ability to utilise a range of research methods, tools, and platforms.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of producing compelling research outputs for diverse audiences.
  • Project & Stakeholder Management: Ability to effectively handle multiple projects, deadlines, and partnerships.
  • Passion for Veganism: Alignment with TVS’s values and a personal drive to advance veganism.
  • Impact Evaluation: Experience in programme evaluation, strategic reporting, or monitoring frameworks (desirable).
