Introduction to the Research Information Service
The Research Information Service (RIS) belongs to the Library Services directorate, operating under the House of Commons Library. RIS delivers a wide spectrum of information services that bolster the Library’s eight research teams and the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST). Our offerings range from selecting information resources and generating current awareness reports to providing training, reference aid, and bibliographic support for the crafting of thorough briefings and publications.
Join Us as a Research Support Librarian
We’re searching for a driven, passionate candidate to fill the role of Research Support Librarian within our RIS team. This pivotal position involves collaboration with researchers, ensuring they have the necessary information resources to fuel a flourishing Parliamentary democracy.
Key Role Responsibilities
The successful candidate will champion the information requirements of their allocated Research Team(s), staying abreast of information sector trends, advocating for high service standards, and providing tailored training and support. They will also forge and maintain relationships within the information professional community to stay informed on best practices and industry developments. The role involves managing inquiries and conducting analysis using our in-house databases and tools, with comprehensive training provided.
Experience Over Qualifications
