Position Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Systems User Acceptance Testing and Configuration Specialist to join the Research and Innovation Division. This role entails providing professional services support for the University’s research information management system (Pure – Elsevier). The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of user acceptance testing (UAT) and technical configurations during essential security and system updates. The position is critical in safeguarding data integrity, enhancing system functionality, ensuring seamless user experience, and adhering to external compliance requirements for research visibility and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Updates and Configuration: Manage technical configurations and updates.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Conduct and oversee rigorous UAT processes.
  • Data Integrity and System Links: Monitor and resolve disruptions caused by updates.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Fulfill external research visibility and compliance obligations.
  • General Administrative Support: Provide day-to-day administrative functions as needed.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Two A-levels and five GCSEs (grades A-C) including Mathematics and English, or equivalent qualifications/experience.
  • Proven experience in user acceptance testing and system configuration.
  • Familiarity with research information systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to meet all essential criteria outlined in the candidate brochure.

Terms and Benefits:
This part-time (0.8 FTE) position is available from 8 April 2026 on a fixed-term basis of two years. The post offers 39 days of annual leave (inclusive of public holidays and University Customary days, pro rata for part-time staff).
