Role Summary
We’re seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst to play a pivotal role in a key project within our change portfolio, with a primary focus on Identity and Access Management. This exciting position involves close collaboration with senior leaders across the University, technical teams, and portfolio delivery management to ensure projects are delivered effectively and align with strategic objectives.
The Senior Business Analyst will contribute to major discovery and delivery phases of complex programmes. Responsibilities include defining current and future states, outlining desired goals and benefits, gathering and prioritising requirements, evaluating delivery options, and presenting recommendations. In addition, the role will involve building strong relationships at all levels to influence customer strategy and successfully embed lasting organisational change.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the business analysis process across specific areas of the institution for projects related to Identity and Access Management.
- Design and deliver strategic change initiatives at various levels, from department-wide changes to large-scale University transformation.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including senior officer teams and academics, to define project goals, scope, and delivery timelines.
- Work with diverse stakeholders to ensure responsiveness to evolving needs and capitalise on emerging opportunities.
- Apply structured methodologies and tools to underpin all analysis and delivery work.
- Champion business analysis across the University, coaching and mentoring team members to enhance their effectiveness.
- Offer expert guidance to more junior members of the Portfolio Delivery team, ensuring their professional development.
- Undertake cost analysis for proposed projects and programme options.
- Manage relationships with external suppliers to ensure project goals and requirements are met.
Person Specification
Essential Skills and Experience
- An honours degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
- Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst in complex organisational settings.
- Substantial experience in leading and working within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on expertise in Identity and Access Management principles.
- A customer-first, results-oriented approach with a history of successfully meeting challenging deadlines.
- Proficiency in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to build credibility with senior leaders.
- Experience in developing and presenting compelling business cases to executive boards, including benefit and risk assessments aligned with organisational strategies.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
- BCS Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent certification.
- Practitioner-level qualifications in project and programme management.
- A track record of leading significant change initiatives within organisations.
