About the Role
We are excited to invite applications for an enthusiastic and skilled (Senior) Clinical Trials Database Developer to join our growing team of data management and IT professionals dedicated to supporting a diverse portfolio of clinical trials. Depending on experience, the position will be offered at Grade 4 (Database Developer) or Grade 5 (Senior Database Developer). The successful candidate will be responsible for database development and data management activities across multiple clinical research studies supported by the Pragmatic Clinical Trials Unit (PCTU). The senior role will take on additional leadership and oversight responsibilities for these activities.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess a degree (or higher qualification) and have substantial, relevant experience in developing trial databases using EDC systems within clinical research. Key requirements for the role include a proven track record in developing data management processes and documentation, alongside a solid understanding of the regulatory framework governing data protection and information governance.

The Wolfson Institute of Population Health (WIPH) provides an exciting and dynamic environment, bringing together 450 staff members, 100 PhD students, and 500 postgraduate taught students. The institute is celebrated for its excellence in population health, primary care, and preventive medicine. It unites expertise across diverse areas of population-based research and education, supporting its commitment to impactful, high-quality work.
The Institute comprises six research centres, each with its own strategic objectives. The postholder will work within the Centre for Evaluation and Methods, a thriving centre that fosters collaboration between four research units to deliver exceptional research. The PCTU, a UKCRC-registered trials unit, is central to this, leading and supporting clinical trials focused on assessing the effectiveness of interventions under real-world conditions.

This full-time, fixed-term position (35 hours per week) is based at our Whitechapel Campus in London and is expected to start in Autumn 2025 for a duration of one year. The starting salary for Grade 4 will range from £40,015 to £46,618 per annum, while Grade 5 will range from £44,288 to £51,755 per annum, both inclusive of London Allowance.
