Location: St John’s Campus

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quality Officer to join the Academic Quality Unit at the University of Worcester.

The Academic Quality Unit is a vibrant and proactive team, dedicated to ensuring compliance with academic standards, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and providing expert advice to maintain and elevate the University’s academic quality in line with its evolving needs.

As a Senior Quality Officer, you will play a pivotal role by managing and coordinating periodic reviews and course approval processes. This involves collaborating with senior staff members to provide expert advice, negotiating and planning quality engagement schedules, and delivering tailored training, advice, and guidance for Schools and panel members.

Drawing on your experience in academic quality within a Higher Education context, you will offer authoritative guidance on regulatory compliance and will develop specialist expertise in one or more areas such as collaborative provision and academic partnerships, apprenticeships, external examiners, PSRBs, data management, student engagement, and curriculum design—with an anticipated focus on curriculum design.

In addition, you will provide vital support to University committees, including advice and acting as the minuting Secretary.

Success in this role will require excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team and build strong partnerships with colleagues and stakeholders across the University and its partner institutions.

This is a busy and varied position offering significant scope for personal initiative. You will play a key role in supporting the University’s dedication to upholding and enhancing academic quality and standards.

As a University, we are committed to delivering an outstanding, inspirational, and inclusive student experience. These values underpin all areas of our work, and this role will offer the chance to contribute meaningfully to our mission.

If you are a proactive and resourceful professional with strong attention to detail, administrative expertise, and excellent analytical skills, this position offers a fantastic opportunity to grow your career in higher education within a supportive and dynamic team.

What’s in it for you?

  • Annual incremental salary progression up to £37,174, with scope to advance to £40,497 (subject to performance and the University reward scheme)
  • Up to 36 days of leave per year (including bank holidays and University closure days), increasing to 41 total days after 5 years of continuous service
  • Participation in an attractive pension scheme
  • Access to a variety of benefits including our Staff Retail Benefits Scheme
  • Wellbeing support and guidance through our Employee Assistance Programme
  • In-house training and development opportunities to support your career growth
